Donor Advised Funds (DAFs)
A donor advised fund (DAF) is a flexible and tax-efficient way to manage your charitable giving. When you contribute to your fund, you receive an immediate tax deduction and can recommend grants to organizations like ACPeds at your convenience. Funds may be invested and grow tax-free, increasing your potential impact over time.
Benefits of a DAF include:
- Streamlined giving through one centralized account
- Immediate tax deductions
- Tax-efficient strategies such as “bunching”
- Avoidance of capital gains taxes on appreciated assets
- Simplified recordkeeping with a single annual summary
- Flexibility to give anonymously or name your fund
A DAF can be a powerful tool for thoughtful, strategic philanthropy.
Stock and Securities Donations
A gift of appreciated securities can provide greater tax advantages than a cash donation. By donating stocks, you may avoid capital gains taxes while receiving a charitable deduction for the full market value.
Donors can make stock gifts through Charles Schwab. To ensure your gift is properly credited, please follow the transfer instructions below:
