ACPeds Statement on the Death of Charlie Kirk

Atlanta, GA – Today, the American College of Pediatricians released the following statement regarding yesterday’s assassination of Charlie Kirk:

“The American College of Pediatricians mourns the loss of Charlie Kirk, a husband, father, great leader, and true hero. Our heartfelt condolences and prayers are with his wife and children. Charlie Kirk is a true hero in the work he did to help our country, help families and most of all, protect children from dangerous ideology and a civilization trying to destroy their bodies and their lives. He is a hero to many of us, inspiring us and encouraging us through his fearless facilitation of open dialogue with young people across the country. This was not only a targeted attack on his life, but also an attack on free speech meant to frighten all of us into silence. We will not be silenced. We will continue to speak the truth in love about the dignity of each human person, about the right to life, and the dangers of gender ideology. Our resolve is only strengthened by this tragedy and his legacy will continue stronger than ever before. Turning Point USA, you have strong allies and friends here at the American College of Pediatricians and we send our condolences to you as well, as you carry on his legacy in your work.”
