ACPeds Launches the “Doctor, Heal Thyself” Initiative

Atlanta, GA – Today, the American College of Pediatricians (ACPeds) is launching the “Doctor, Heal Thyself” initiative advancing evidence-based, biologically grounded pediatric care in response to the rapid adoption of irreversible medical interventions for children and adolescents experiencing sex-identity distress. ACPeds is reaching out to our pediatric colleagues and all physicians to invite them to join us as we restore integrity to pediatric medicine.

ACPeds is honored to be a recipient of The Heritage Foundation’s Innovation Prize for the “Doctor, Heal Thyself” Initiative. Building off of this award, ACPeds is expanding its campaign to reach over 67,000 pediatricians, encouraging them to reject harmful ideological mandates, and amplifying a growing coalition of voices advocating for children’s health and evidence-based care.

Dr. Jill Simons, Executive Director of ACPeds, released the following statement:

“We are thrilled to launch the ‘Doctor, Heal Thyself” initiative where we will be reaching out to our pediatric colleagues and inviting them to join us as we heal our profession. We are restoring evidence-based, biologically grounded, and life-affirming pediatric medicine.”

The “Doctor, Heal Thyself” initiative builds on ACPeds’ recent efforts, including the Biological Integrity Initiative and the Doctors Protecting Children Declaration, both of which have received attention and support from thousands of physicians and healthcare professionals.
